Compotier Terre de fer, Saint Amand, Moulin des Loups/Hamage, Acacia collection to present your fruit, cakes... Very pretty floral design of green/blue acacia leaves and flowers, 19th century.
Saint-Amand-les-Eaux is in the north of France. The surrounding area was ideal for establishing an earthenware factory. In 1705 Nicolas Desmoutiers established the first earthenware factory in Saint Amand. The factory's production was varied, with shapes and decorations inspired by Chinese porcelain, as were many 18th-century earthenware manufacturers with blue cameo decorations. The third factory in Saint Amand produced tin-glazed earthenware with blue or multicoloured decorations. In 1880, production shifted to the Lunéville and Saint Clément styles. In 1896, a second factory was opened in Wandignies-Hamage and the brand name ‘Saint Amand et Hamage Nord’ was registered.
The company had 5 factories: two in Saint Amand, one in Wandignies-Hamage, one in Orchies and one in Provins. In 1952, the Wandignies-Hamage factory (‘Saint Amand et Hamage Nord’) was closed.
