Rosalie
Let me introduce you to Rosalie. This first name of Latin origin comes from the words "rosa" (rose) and "lilium" (lily). It is also a corruption of the Latin rosaria, “the garden of roses”. And its color, depending on the light, changes: gray powder pink, slightly purple beige, pearl gray. So yes, Rosalie suits this little 3-drawer chest of drawers. She arrives from Saint-Mandrier and has been completely transformed. It has been decorated with golden floral designs on the sides and, when you open the drawers, a very discreet floral reminder underlines its delicate discretion. The interior of the drawers has also been completely painted. Considering its age, its central drawer is slightly stuck. A slight upward movement and it opens! It is very soft and can find its place in a bedroom, an entrance or in the living room. And always accompanied by a small matching box. It bears the marks of time like any old piece of furniture.

Its small dimensions allow it to slip into an entrance hall, a bedroom or a corner of your living room. It is waiting to be adopted to embellish your interior.

Louise
Here is Louise, a small, slender Louis XV-style dressing table. It is made of solid cherry wood. With its rounded shape, it will bring a touch of softness to your interior, whether in a bedroom or an entryway. What's special about it? It bears the André Mailfert stamp. But who is he? A little history: André Mailfert (1884–1943) was an industrialist, cabinetmaker, painter, and writer who founded a company manufacturing fake antique furniture in Orléans in 1904. He is one of the most famous furniture forgers, as he recounted his life in a book of memoirs, in which he confessed to having produced fake antique furniture from scratch, on a large scale, with the deliberate intention of allowing his clients to deceive their own customers, antique dealers, and collectors. In his memoir "Au Pays des Antiquaires," he recounts how, with the approximately two hundred cabinetmakers, joiners, gilders, patinators, and other workers in his company, he produced hundreds of chests of drawers, tables, overmantels, chairs, sideboards, and more. Mailfert furniture, strictly speaking, bearing the Salamander brand, is still sought after by some lovers of charming furniture. Excerpt from "Decorative Arts" by Proantic
