One flea market after the other, some lamps can be found. Forgotten, old-fashioned, a symbol of its own era. And yet, a simple relooking, and it comes back to life.
From these observations, Clair de Lume was born : where lampshades become one of the major elements in your home decor : lights transform a house, but it's the details that give it a soul, and that shines a warm light in your home.
Each lampshade is conceived as a unique decorative element, rich in nature's elements and colors, and will bring a warm atmosphere, a soft environment, and provoke an immediate reaction or an energy boost in any room.

The elements then take form thanks to a meticulous, artisanal work, where each gesture counts. (découpe, assemblage, finitions)... each step is realised with care to offer a unique creation. In order to sell lampshades according to best practices, one needs to receive proper training, which is why I am glad to be an official École d'Art et de Design (Design and Art School) alumni and to have the title of Art Lampshade Maker.

How to choose a lampshade
A lampshade influences the light it diffuses, the visual atmosphere of the room, and the harmony of your decor.
Sizing to respect :
The lampshade's height : it must contain 40% of the total lamp's height (lampshade included). In consequence, the lamp base must represent 60% of the total height. In general, the higher the lamp base is, the higher the lampshade will be.
The lampshade's width : it must represent at least twice the base's height or its largest part.
This is a basic rule. It is therefore sometimes interesting to break this norm in order to give your lamp some originality.
The lightbulb holder socket :
Two different sizes of socket exist : E27 (large socket) and E14 (small socket). It is possible to size down an E27 socket on a lampshade to an E14 socket through an adaptator. The opposite, however, is not possible. Please consider checking the size of your lightbulb holder socket before buying a lampshade.
The lampshade's shape has an important impace on the way the light is diffused throughout the room.
